 Metallica's Gear

On this page, im gonna tell you more about Metallica’s Instruments and amplifiers. Its a realy difficult topic if you don’t know anything about Instruments. But I try to explain it easy. Im not gonna tel you everything, because it gets too much when i do that.

 

Start with James hetfield.

First i gonna talk about some of his guitars.

His most famous guitar is the ‘’Iron Cross’’ james got it with the brand ESP and Gibson, The difference between these 2 is that he use the ESP for more heavy work and the Gibson for more slow work. You find the Iron Cross on the right.

Another very famous guitar is the snakebyte. Its an ESP guitar. He use this guitar in the Death Magnetic tour for the And justice for all songs. You see the snakebyte under the iron cross

For all the guitars, he use ErnieBall strings.

James has much amplifiers. He Uses mainly Marshall Amps on stage, All with a Metallica monster or logo on it, and at home and when he is just playing for fun, he uses Krank Amplifiers.

Lars Ulrich had more Drum kits. Nearly every tour he has another. He uses Tama drumkits the most. In contrast to other bands. He Nearly never has The band logo on the bass drum. Just the logo of the brand of the drumkit.

I do not gonna explain all the drumkits. But im gonna talk a little bit about the And justice for all drumkit. Its the most beautiful drumkit Lars ever had in my opinion. Its a Tama Granstar II. The Tama Granstar is a black and white drumkit. The Cymballs he used are all from zildjian, its a very Famous Cymball and highhead brand.

Kirk has some very nice lead guitar gear.

Kirk’s guitars are very famous and are worth much money. Kirk has an own guitar brand, in collaboration with ESP. mo

Lets start with the ESP KH 2 ‘’OUIJA’’.It whas his first released guitar from his brand.

He uses this guitar nearly every concert.

The other guitar Im gonna explain more is the Kirk Hammett LTD KH-603

Its a Les Paul guitar with a little zombie head on it.

Kirk mostly uses Randall Amps on stage, and sometimes Marshall. I love Kirk’s sounds because of the amps, guitars and the effectpedals he uses. His Distortion pedal (A pedal to get a heavy sound) is the Boss Metalzone, its a very nice pedal for thrashMetal.

Robert trujillo’s bass gear is very easy.

He uses mostly a yahama 5 string bass guitar, and a Zon Guitars Bass guitar with 5 strings.

He always play with 5 strings, because he had his first bass lessons on a 5 string bass. The most bass guitars has 4 strings.

This is one of his yahama bassguitars, he got much more bassguitars, but no famous one.

Something cool about Roberts gear is that he always uses the same brand of Amps. He always uses a ampeg bass amp. Another cool thing is that he use sometimes a octave pedal, to get a very low sound. And a bass guitar with 5 strings is always very low.

I also gonna tell a little bit about the former bandmembers Gear.

So Cliff Burton had only 3 bass guitars.

Alembic Spoiler bass, black (It was a stolen Bassguitar)
Aria Pro II SB-1000 and SB Black 'n Gold I
Cliff mostly used Ampag Amps, as well as robert.

Jason Newsted had much more Bass guitars, but not a realy famous one or something. He mostly used ESP bass guitar, and the 3 old Cliff basses.

He used ampeg amplifiers.

In contrast to Robert, Jason and Cliff Always used 4 string basses.
